BREAD DELIVERY ZONING

BIG SAVING IN PETROL [by TELEGRATH —OWN correspondent] GISBORNE, Wednesday As from Monday, the delivery of bread to homes in Wairoa will be discontinued, and in future householders will have to collect their bread from depots in town. The decision to take their delivery vans off the road has been made by the bakers with a view to conserving petrol. A zoning system will be brought into operation for delivery to country districts, each firm visiting the country for a week in turn. This will result in a saving of about 2160 gallons of petrol a year.
