SOLDIERS' MESS KIT
IMPORTANCE OF STERILISERS HOSPITAL CHAIRMAN'S WARNING Failure of the military authorities to make use of sterilising apparatus installed at the Papakura camp for the cleansing of mess kit and other utensils was alleged by the chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, Mr. Allan J. Moody, in a statement last night. He recalled that the board had previously emphasised the importance of thor-oughly-cleansed eating equipment if infection were to be avoided. "It was reported to me to-day that, although the, camp is equipped with the sterilising plant, it is not being used, Mr. Moody said. "If the military authorities expect us to correct their mistakes, we must have some co-opera-tion from them. The board has indicated that it is ready to help, but it would like the military authorities to take some notice. Unless they are careful we shall be in the position of having to combat another influenza epidemic."
