TRUCK IN KITCHEN
CRASH THROUGH WALW _v DAMAGE ESTIMATED AT £2OO [by TELEGRAPH —OWN" correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Wednesday Damage assessed at about £2OO was caused when a large truck crashed through the wall of a dwelling at the back of a service station at Runciman. The truck, a three-ton vehicle, was being driven from Auckland to Te Rapa by Mr. J. W. Htitson, of Te Rapa, who was accompanied by his wife and child. Four other persons were travelling on the back. At the junction of the Great South Road and the Pukekohe highway the truck swerved to the left, narrowly missing a post in front of the service station, owned by Messrs. W. Herkt and Sons. Striking the back of tho house, it penetrated the wall, entering about 12ft. into the kitchen and wrecking the room. . Furniture, a washing machine and an electric stove wore broken, but a radio set and a sideboard escaped .damage. The truck was considerably damaged, although its occupants escaped injury. Mr. Herkt's daughter, a child and two visitors had only just left the room when the accident occurred
