SCHOOLS' RUGBY POINTS
With the first round in the Auckland Secondary < Schools' senior Rugby competition completed, tho championship issue appears very opep. Two teams, Takapuna Grammar and Sacred Heart, are at present equal with eight points each, and Auckland Grammar is only one point behind. Takapuna is the only unbeaten team, having: drawn with Auckland Grammar and King's College, while Sacred Heart and Auckland Grammar have each been beaten once. Sacred Heart defeated Auckland Grammar on June and Takapuna beat Sacred Heart last Saturday. Although Takanuna's margin over. Sacred Heart was small, its superiority was greater, for the team scored two tries and converted one to the opposition's two penalty goals. The two teams will meet again in tho main College .Day attraction at Eden Park on July 20. Takapuna has yet to win tho schools' senior competition. and appears to have excellent prospects this season. Although tho side's display on Saturday was not without blemishes, it appealed as a team likely to show further improvement. The forwards showed themselves to bo a virile, fit and formidable pack, and at least two of tho backs—Proctor, fullback, and Patrick, second five-eighths—played games which showed distinct promise.
