ST. MARY'S HOMES
To enable the work of St. Mary's Homes, Otahuhu, to be successfully carried on, a winter fair is to be held in the Auckland Town Hall on Friday. A much-needed institution whose value is fully recognised, the homes have been the means of helping very many girls. While not offering an easy escape from responsibility, they do give an opportunity of training in self-control and self-respect, forming habits of industry in housework and the care of children. Carried out on a large scale, the homes need constant funds, and it is hoped that the fair to-morrow will be well patronised for this purpose.
