LADY GALWAY GUILD

FORMATION OF BRANCHES PONSONBY AND MOUNT EDEN A branch of the Lady Galway Patriotic Guild was formed in Ponsonby at a meeting called by Mrs. J. A. C. Allum and Mrs. S. 0. English. Mr. J. A. C. Allum addressed the meeting, after which tho following officers were elected: —Chairman, Mrs. J. H. Aitchison; executive committee, Mrs. S. 0. English, Mrs. W. W. Averill, Mrs. J. A. C. Allum, Mrs. J. Shilling, Mrs. F. R. Bell-Booth, Mrs. R. Finlayson, Mrs. J. S. Callinan, Mrs. C. F. Green, Mrs. F. E. Bell, Mrs. J. L. Sehischka, Mrs. M. Mansen, Mrs. P. H. Howe, Mrs. A. Coulam, Miss Bra id wood.

A well-attended meeting of ladies was held yesterday in tho Centennial Booms, Stokes Road, Mount Eden, to organise tho work of the Lady Galway Patriotic Guild for the district. It was agreed that the best method of work would be by the formation of a series of sowing circles throughout the district, several churches and organisations having placed rooms at the branch's disposal. Motor-cars have been offered to the committee for a drive throughout the Mount Eden area on Saturday to collect donations of goods for refugees, and the local scouts will also assist. A central committee was formed for tho sorting, distribution and classification of clothing.
