GERMANY THE AGGRESSOR
Sir, —Many of your readers will be grateful for your printing in Notes and Comments on ' July 2 the excerpt from Professor Hearnshaw's book. The passage quoted explains some of the things which have been puzzling ordinary Christian people since Hitler came into power —people who are not well versed in the "cultural'' history of the German nation. Thousands all over the world are daily praying for our enemies, as for ourselves and the stricken former Allies. Such a book as ''Germany the Aggressor" will make their intercession before God more intelligent and purposeful. _ ' May I say, incidentally, that, the prayer of David in the seventh Psalm is "worth meditating on these solemn days—it is quite "modern."
