HAMILTON RATES
REDUCTION OF HALF-PENNY [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Wednesday A decision to reduce the general rates in Hamilton for the current year by id in the pound by reducing the proposed expenditure on street improvements and maintenance from £14,708 to £12,248 was made by the Hamilton Borough Council this evening. The following rates, including special and general, were agreed to: —Hamilton, 8.345 d in the pound; Claudelands, 8.2-lod; Frankton, 9.245 d; Macron, 11.57 d; Richmond, 10.125 d. A meeting to strike the rates will be held on July 24. The rates will be payable on August 14.
