GOVERNMENT'S WAR EFFORTS LETTER \TO PRIME MINISTER A letter conveying the appreciation of the National 'Service Movement of the acts of tlJe Government in bringing in conscription and establishing the War Council Idas been sent to the Prime Minister, the \Hon. P. Fraser, by the chairman of th\p movement, Mr. Jiryan Kingston. It wo} 9 the sincere wish and hope of the movement, stated the letter, by co-operation to lesson the heavy responsibilities <of ihe Government and to assist to remove llifficulties. ]f tlie movement had helped, and could still help, by conveying to the Government what it felt to/bo the earnest desires of the people of/ the Dominion, then its efforts were nrvt in rain. "May I coniclude," wrote Mr. Kingston, by referring to what is now the final prayer of J this movement —namely, that without /aelay it will be possible to smooth ou(r differences and form a united government fully representing all loyal parties and interests in which party strife i s biiried in the fight not only for free dom and ideals, but for our very existence against a common foe."
