FIXTURE POSTPONE]) MAORIS VERSUS PAKEHAS BETTER SCRUM FORMATION Th e Auckland Hughy League Control Board last evening decided that, in view of the reported suspension ot holid ay activities on Monday, the annual .Maori-l'akeha match at C'arlaw Park would be postponed. ' The chairman, Mr. (J. Grey Campbell, expressed approval of the suggestion by Mr. J. Clark regarding the desirability of better understanding on the scrum formation. He said that there was need for improvement in the method of hooking to open up the game. II was decided to hold a conference next week with Messrs. A. Dohle was empowered to act on behalf of the Control Board in the matter of a proposed combined programme of tho football codes to tie presented at .North Shore in the interests of the Sports Queen of the Sick and Wounded Soldiers' Fund carnival. Approving the system of regular inspection of players' hoots, the Ponsonby club also advised that it was prepared to accept the offer of tho Referees' Association for a referee to attend its training grounds on Thursday evenings. Tho junior delegate. Mr. F. Chapman, urged that when a player was injured the referee should note this on the back of tho team-card. He said some referees already adopted this procedure, which was helpful officially. It was decided to ask the Referees' Association for general co-operation in the matter.
