FOOTBALLER'S DEATH
NECK BROKEN IN SCRUM OTAGO REPRESENTATIVE [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] DUNEDIN, Monday Injured in a Rugby match between Taieri and Kaikorai on Saturday, Mr. James Barron, aged 28, the Otago representative footballer, died in hospital this morning at Mosgiel. Barron, who lived in East Taieri, was injured when a scrum collapsed. He Avas found to have suffered a fracture of the 'neck. The match was played at Mosgiel. He played in last year's northern tour and many northerners will remember how, in games where he was not chosen, he played the teams on to the field with his pipes.
