TUBERCULOSIS SURVEY
MANY UNSUSPECTED CASES Perturbed by the results of a recent tuberculosis survey among young Adelaide women, a group of Adelaide doctors has prepared plans for a mass survey in South Australia. The survey showed that of 3056- young women tested .'35 per cent were found to return a positive reaction to the Mantoux test Doctors point out that the research showed many unsuspected cases of pulmonary tuberculosis to exist among young women living normal, busy lives: By detecting cases at an early stage it is possible not only to restore the girls to health but prevent them reaching an infectious stage.
