Cuslion, aged 17, son of Mr. J. A. Cushen, headmaster of the North School, was presented with a wristlet watch by Dr. G. H. Uttley before tho assembled students. During the Easter holidays Cuslion was one of a camping party at Oreti. Several hoys were bathing in the river and one of them sot into difficulties in deep water. Without hesitation Cuslion jumped in and wont to his rescue. The boy struggled and Cushen was dragged under. He managed to fight free, caught the other hoy by the hair and dragged him to the hank. There he and another boy applied artificial respiration. Details of the rescue are being collected and will he forwarded to a representative of tho Royal Humnno Society in Dunedin.
