LIQUOR AFTER HOURS

[from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI. Tuesday A conviction was entered against Frederick Johnson, licensee of the Whangarei Hotel, when lie appeared before Mr. Raymond Ferner, S.M., charged with soiling liquor after hours. Accused was ordered to pay costs, 10s Charges of exposing liquor for sale and keeping premises open for sale were dis.missed. The barman, Alan Coleman, who had made the sale in the absence of Johnson, was fined £4. The magistrate remarked that the licensee had held an unblemished record for many years.
