STOCKS AND SHARES

AUCKLAND REOPENING FEW MARKED ALTERATIONS Very few sales were made when the Auckland Stock Exchange reopened yesterday after the Easter vacation. Operators were hesitant in naming quotations. Buyers for Government loans came in at lower levels. Banlcs were- quiet, but New Zealands presented a strong front. Some of the classified groups showed an easier trend, particularly loan and agency and woollen. Australian industrials, led by Broken Hill Proprietary and A.C.1., were more strongly supported. New Zealand issues showed little alteration on values ruling before the holidays. Mining scrip generally was firmer.
