I), bnro, following his suggestion tlint a women's land army should bo formed to promote production during the war. The scheme lias yet to receive Government consideration. A number of young women in Hamilton have in'l: n a ted tlioir willingness to give up their present positions and take up work on the land, while an inquirer from Nelson wrote asking for details. Farmers have also written to Mr. Garo offering; positions to girls willing to take up land work.
