WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP JOE LOUIS WINS AGAIN KNOCK-OUT IN SECOND ROUND NEW YORK, March 20 The world heavy-weight boxing champion, Joo Lonis, knocked out Johnny Paycheck in the second round. Louis tipped the scale at 14st. 431b. and Paycheck at 13st. sijlb. when they weighed in at Madison Square Garden. The odds against Paycheck lengthened to 15 to 1. Tho crowd of 20,000 booed the hollow challenge which lasted one round and 41 seconds. Louis dropped Paycheck three times in Ilia first round, twice with rights and onco with a double-handcr. In the second round Louis stalked the retreating challenffor and landed a loft. Ho then smashed a long, terrific right to tho chin, lifting Paycheck from near tho centre of tho ring right into the air. Paycheck collapsed flat on his back in a corner. Tho rcfereo, Mr. Arthur Donovan, stopped counting at four and awarded Louis tho decision on a technical knock-out. Sports writors agreo that Louis has regained his "killer" form and suggest that Paycheck was scared. Tho latter landed only two blows. Paycheck said: "I remembered nothing aftor the first right." Louis said: "It was just a vacation." Louis' record sinco ho won tho title from Jim Braddock in 1037 is as follows: — August, 1037.—Outpointed Tommy Farr. February, 1038. —Knocked out Nathan Mann.
