| Mae West's life-long ambition, acI cording to Mae, is to play the title role i in "Catherine the Great." j J Charlie Chaplin's "Production No. 16" (formerly "The Dictator") is complete, all but the cutting. Boris Karloff has a title to his liking in his next picture at the Monogram studio —"Chamber of Horrors." A special Paramount crew is combing Texas and Arkansas plains looking for a "Canadian" prairie for "Northwest Mounted Police." The star role in "Reap the Wild Wind," one of Paramount's high budget productions for ]94 0-41 has been given to Claudette Colbert. Producer Joe Pasternak, of Universal, will pay 20th Century-Fox any price to star Tyrone Power with Marlene Dietrich in '.'Seven Sinners."
M-G-M., worried about "harmful publicity," has ordered Mickey Rooney not to pose any more for photographers at race tracks and other such places. The top role in "One Was Beautiful" has been given to Virginia Bruce. The film will soon go into production at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio. Spencer Tracy falls heir to "Cyrano de Bergerae," which at one time was going to be done by Charles Laugh ton. So far we have not seen much of Tracy in costume.
