TEN MINUTES' SILENCE ALL TRAFFIC TO STOP PERIOD THIS MORNING "Citizens of Auckland will he able to participate in the start of the funeral of the late Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, in Wellington to-morrow morning by observing a period of ten minutes of silence.' 1 said the Mayor. Sir Krnest Davis, last night.

Sir Krnest said lie had received a request from the acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. P. Fraser. that citizens should be asked to cease all activities for ton minutes from nine o'clock this morning, when the funeral of Mr Savage will leave Parliament Buildings in Wellington.

Sir Ernest said that, in conformity with this request, he would ask all citizens to observe a period of cessation of all activities for ten minutes from nine o'clock. As a mark of respect to Mr. Savage all traffic in the city would stop at nine o'clock and would be asked to remain stationary for ten minutes. The Mayor said he had been advised that all train traffic in the Dominion would also cease for ten minutes and that all telegraph operating rooms and telephone exchanges would maintain a similar cessation.

YACHTSMEN'S GESTURE

PROCESSION OF BOATS FLAG ETIQUETTE EXPLAINED 'llmre will ho a profession of yachts and motor-boats from the Taniaki acht Club to-morrow afternoon from the King's Wharf to Bastion Point. Boats will assemble at 2.15 and start, together at in fairly close formation. to make a good display. It is expected that about 200 boats will take part.

FIRST-AID CORPS MANY UNITS AVAILABLE LOCATION OF AMBULANCES Divisions nf the St. John Ambulance Brigade, representing about 100 men and women members and cadets, will be posted at appropriate points along the route of Mr. Savage's funeral procession, as well as six ambulances and a mobile hospital. The brigade, under the direction of Corps Officer R. L. P. Scott, will parade at the ambulance station in Rutland Street at 12.30 p.m. to-morrow. The mobile hospital, in charge of Dr. P. Moir, who will have the assistance of a trained nurse, will be located a short distance from the graveside at Bastion Point. One ambulance will be at Queen's Wharf, two at the intersection of Queen Street and Victoria Street, one at the north end of the Olympic pool at Newmarket, the fifth at the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Remuera Road, which will follow in the. wake of the procession and be stationed behind the mourners at Bastion Point. The sixth ambulance will bo at the foot of the point, on the waterfront road.
