PAKUEANGA HUNT
EARLIER START LIKELTj ANNUAL MEETING DECISIONS THE ELECTION OF OFFICERS " The coming season may possibly.be curtailed to some extent by war conditions, but it is the wish of all that the good sport be kept going," stated the annual report of the Pakuranga Hunt, presented to members on Friday It was later made a recommendation to the committee that subscribing to patriotic funds be considered. Another recommendation was that the hunting season be started at least one week earlier than usual and conclude correspondingly. The meeting also expressed its' congratulations to the huntsman, Mr. P. H. Smith, and Mrs. Smith, for their capable management of the kennels and for the excellent type of hounds. It was stated that the pack is the best the hunt has had. The report stated that the accounts disclosed an excess of income over expenditure for the year of £524, after writing off depreciation. Members' subscriptions showed an increase of £64. Hounds were out 34 days and killed 24 hares. Through the generosity of the farmers of Glenbrook new hunting country was thrown open and a good day's sport enjoyed. The hunt also thanked the farmers of the Greenmount district for providing the point-to-point course. The following officers were re-elected:—: Joint masters. Messrs. H. Bullock-Webster and W. \Y. McLaughlin; deputy-master, Dr. A. McGregor Grant; field master. Mr. 0. R Self; field secretary, Mr. A. G. Quart ley. Ths following were elected a hunt committee;— Dr. A. Eisdell Moore, Messrs. C. Allen, C. E. M. Fulton, G. Hutter. A. Millen and 0. R* Self. Race committee:—Lieutenant-Com-maxider D. A. Bingley. Messrs. W. J. Brooks, W. S. Dalton, W. T. Duder, C. C. Hannigan. G. Hodgson, W. H. Martin-Johnston, H. R. Mackenzie, W. W. McLaughlin, A G-. Quartley, O. R. Self, W. M. Taylor, A. J, F. "Walker, A. E. Watkins and H. Bullock* Webster.
