THE LITERARY CONTEST
Sir, —As one of the 197 competitors in the above contest, I was also gratified to receive a personal letter from the chairman of the committee, who kindly advised me that the preliminary judge in the short story section. placed my entry in the short list of those worthy of further consideration. The names of the judges were given on the entry forms of the various competitions. Competitors were also instructed to attach stamped and addressed envelopes to each entry, and I am hoping that when my manuscript is returned (and I trust at least that we recover them to try elsewhere) that it will bear some marks indicating the position on this "short list." 1 also entered in the one-act play contest, but have heard nothing further,- nor have 1 seen any results. D. E. Tvsox.
