DEATH IN THE DARK
Open verdicts were returned bv the acting coroner, Mr. W. R. H. Heddy, at Paddington, London, on two victims of accidents in the black-out. Tliey were Thomas Sha frocks, aged 52, shop porter, of St. i'ani rus, who was found dead the Oxford Circus end of Upper Regent Street, and Francis Richard Buckingham aged 50, printer's assistant, of Upper Holloway, who was discovered in the roadway in Charing Cross Road. Mr. He'ddy_.said the fate of people knocked down in the black-out must in many cases remain a mystery.
