EXCITING LIFE
MISS BERTHA SLOSBERG "Pagan Tapestry," by Bertha Slosberg, is a startling book. Miss Slosberg's childhood was passed in the blaze of war and revolution. She was continually being fired at either by the Germans or the Russians, by tho Whites or tho Reds. Again and again did she and her heroic mother take to flight across the snow. Eventually they escaped to Kowno and then joined her father in South Africa. But Bertha Slosberg refused to settle down. Having passed her matriculation, she went off to Johannesburg, experimented in boliemianism, acted as a journalist and advertisement agent, and finally appeared in London with a troupe of Zulu dancers. My word, what a life! And the best of it is that it has only half begun. "Fapan Tapestry," by Bertha Slosberff. (Rich and Cowan.)
