COMMISSIONS GRANTED

all black included MEN FROM TRENTHAM COURSE Having completed their advanced training course, a number of non-com-missioned officers from second echelon units have been granted commissions. They were passed out yesterday from Trentham. where they went toward the end of January, and will be reporting to-day to their units as second lieutenants.

Forty-seven non-commissioned officers went to the advanced training course from Papakura and Ngaru&wahia. Among those who have won their commissions is C. S. Pepper, former All Black. The list so far received is not complete, and 110 mention, for instance, is made of those men selected from infantry units. .

The commissions so far awarded to Auckland selections are: — 2nd Divisional Cavalry Regiment, second echelon. —Second Lieutenants D. W. H. Neil son and N. P. Wilder, 2nd Reinforcements, 4th Field Regiment, New Zealand Artillery, second echelon. —Second Lieutenants A. A. Angel 1, J. H. Quigley and R. J. Stanford. Ist Reinforcements, sth Field Regiment, New Zealand Artillery, second echelon. —Second Lieutenants D. C. Allison, R. J. Brewster and J. F. Spring. Second Lieutenants Allison and Spring were permanent staff men. 7th" Anti-Tank Regiment, New Zealand Artillery, second echelon. —Second Lieutenants *K. G. Lewis and C. S. Pepper. 6th Field Regiment, New Zealand Artillery, third echelon. —Second Lieutenants G. P. Cade, J. W. Cropper, P Gilchrist and T. C. McMurtrie.
