THE LEAGUE CODE
NO AUSTRALIAN TOUR DOMINION COUNCIL'S DECISION The council of the New Zealand Kugby League last evening decided that the time was inopportune to accept the invitation to j>end a New Zealand tram to Australia during the coming season. In reply to an inquiry the council resolved that, registered Rugby League players who had joined the military forces would be free to participate in football matches played under any code during the period they are with such forces without prejudice to their status as Rugby League players. Mr. Redwood referred to the death of an old and esteemed administrator and former international player. Mr. .lames Rukutui, a member of the Auckland Rugby League anil chairman of the New Zealand Maori Rugby League Control Board. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect to hi,s memory.
