CREDIT EXPANSION
INQUIRY TO BE MADE An inquiry.into the continued expansion of currency and credit in New Zealand was urged at a meeting of the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce yesterday by the vice-presi-dent, Mr. L. A. Eady. A recent review by the Canterbury Economic Society and a statement by Professor A. H. Tocker amounted to strong indictments of Government policy, Mr. Eadv said, and they should be followed up by further inquiry. The note issue was nt a high level and Reserve Bank advances stood at over £22,000,000. The old technique of borrow, boom, burst seemed to be under way. Lt was decided to obtain a report from the executive on the matter.
