A THOUGHTFUL GIFT

A surplus of 10s 6d from a collection made among passengers on one of the trains affected by the Main Trunk slips for the purpose of buying food is to be handed to the funds of the Wilson Home for Crippled Children. The collection was made by members of the train's crew, one of whom subsequently proposed that the money should be given to the home. Passengers readily assented and the itionev was handed to M rs. J. S. Gall, of Auckland, a member of the Wilson Home committee of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary, who was on the train. Gall said yesterday that the railwayman showed a fine spirit in thinking of others while lie and his colleagues were confronted with great difficulties.
