FATAL STABBING
SHIP'S CHIEF STEWARD GALLEY-BOY'S CRIME TEN YEARS' IMPRISONMENT Advice of a fatal stabbing on board a foreign-owned but British-registered steamer,when she was lying at anchor at one of the islands of the Seychelles Group, in the Indian Ocean, was brought to Auckland on the ship's arrival. The victim of the attack was the ship's chief steward and the assailant . was;- a; galley : boy who was later 'sentenced at Port Victoria, on the chief island of the" group, Mabe, to 10 years'' imprisonment: Hey will l serve the sentence on the island. It is stated , that , the galley-boy re-; sented the .manner in : which he was ordered to carry out-his work and that early one . morning he secured a butcher's knife with which he inflicted injuries resulting in immediate death.
