FURTHER DISCOVERIES
BYRD IN ANTARCTIC (Received February 27, r>.s p.m.) WASHINGTON, Feb. 20 In n radio message from the Antarctic Rear-Admiral Bvrd says: "In spite of fog and gales, the icc-pack was readied and we photographed from our aeroplane the long sought South Pacific coast of Antarctica, 1200 miles east of Little America. "In addition to filling in 200 miles of new coast, we discovered a. vast mountain range to the southward, rearing up thousands of feet ahove sea level, an ice-covered island 80 miles offshore, mountains to tlio south-east-ward and a great pack-enclosed sea. "These discoveries followed the Bear's 18-day battle against icebergs and blizzards."
