HOSPITAL VISITORS
LODGE REPRESENTATIVES The admission of accredited friendly society sick visitors to the Auckland Hospital outside public visiting .hours was sought in a letter from the J Luckland United Friendly Societies'' Conference, which - was , before the Hospital Board at its meeting. last night./ The letter asked that further consideration be given to the matter. Owing to the shortness of public visiting hourii and the fact that many relatives and others were usually present, lodge sick Visitors had little opportunity to inquire into such personal matters as the financial position of members in hospital. The finance and purchasing committee recommended that a reply be forwarded explaining the position, and ndvising that the board was unable to accede to the request. The chairman, Mr. Allan J. Moody, said it was undesirable to give a permanent pass, but if accredited representatives of the societies saw the medical superintendent, Dr. J. W. Craven, he would make arrangements for them to see patients.
