GENERAL SITUATION UNSETTLED IN THE SOUTH The weather report and forecast for iKew Zealand, issued by the Government meteorologist last evening, were as follows:—Pressure is high to the north, while one of a series of active 'westerly depressions is passing in the south. Winds.-r-Temporary southerly changes in the far south, hut otherwise directions between., north-west and southwest. moderate in the far north, but elsewhere fresh to strong, and reach- ! ing gale force in many places south of 'Taranaki and Hawke's Bay. Seas.—New Zealand waters: Rough i about Cook and Foveaux Straits and I south ofCape Egniont, rather rough j north of Capo Egniont, and offshore [ south of .Castlepoint. Otherwise slight or moderate.
