MATCHES INTERRUPTED A PROTEST UPHELD CLOSING DATE FIXED The result of a deputation to the Parks Committee of the Auckland City Council protesting against the interruption of cricket at the Domain by athletic bodies was conveyed in a letter read at last evening's meeting of the Auckland City and Suburban Cricket Association. The council stated that a conference is to be held at the start ol next, season, when definite arrangements could be made for all sporting interests to be provided for. Sufficient time will be given to all parties concerned, so that a more satisfactory conclusion can bo arrived at.

Tlio town clerk advised that permission to piny cricket on the Domain on Good, Friday had been declined.

The protest by the Mnnuknu senior B team against Hoskill, which played C. Wiberg, a qualified senior grade player, was upheld and tho game awarded to Mnnukau. The secretary, Mr. K. P. Taylor, said that the Jtoskill team captain was aware of the circumstances. Tho chairman, Mr. J. Ball, said that it was apparent there had been a flagrant breach ,ol' rule 11, which governed regrading and transfers.

Tho continual postponement of matches owing to rain was discussed at some length and it was decided to fix April .13 as the definite closing date for all competitions. Mr. Taylor pointed out that the Domain would now not be required for an athletic meeting and, provided there, were no further wet Saturdays, it was possible to decide the senior grade in six weeks' time.

It was decided that all matches in the second anjl third grade, which were cancelled last week owing to rain, will be played next Saturday. The third round is to be commenced the following Saturday. It was also decided to accept an invitation from the North Shore Club to play an all-day fixture against ii combined eleven oil Easter Monday at Devonport. Messrs. 15. P. Taylor, I'. Seatoii and C. Kerr were appointed to finalise tho selection of the teams. The St. John Ambulance Brigade .wrote expressing thanks for a donation received from tho association.
