OBITUARY
ME. R. G. HUDSON DUNEDIN BUSINESS MAN The death has occurred suddenly in Dunedin of Mr. Robert George Hudson. until recently chairman of directors of the firm of Cadbury, Fry, Hudson, Limited, at the. age of 67 years. Mr. Hudson was the second of six sons of the late Mr. Richard Hudson, sen., who founded the firm of R. Hudson and Company, Limited, millers and confectioners, in 1868. Mr. Hudson was well known in business circles in Dunedin, and besides being a' director of his own firm until his death was chairman of directors of the Dominion Fertiliser Company. Limited. In addition to his business interests he was a breeder of horses, and raced a number of trotting horses with success. He is survived by his wife and one son. As a mark of respect the Auckland warehouse of Cadbury, Fry, Hudson will be closed until 1 p.m. to-day. THE REV. F. W. GREENWOOD The death has occurred of the Rev. Frederick W. Greenwood, of Mount Eden, well known as an evangelist and educationalist, aged 80 years. Born at Burton-on-Trent, England, Mr. Greenwood came to New Zealand at the age of 17 years. To complete a course of theology, he went to the College of the Bible at Kentucky University, United States. After five years in America, Mr. Greenwood returned in 1890 to Christchurch, where he married Miss Margaret Mcjarrow. He was engaged in the ministry in Auckland for five years, later going to Oamaru and Ashburton for periods of three years, in addition to carrying out special missions in other parts of the Dominion. Mr. Greenwood then spent nine years in Churches of Christ in Melbourne. Upon returning to New Zealand lie was engaged in home mission workediting the New Zealand Christian ancf contributing a monthly letter to the Christian Standard, United States. He retired 10 years ago owing to ill-health, but still carried on with his literary work. Mr. Greenwood is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.
MR. G. A. CAMPBELL The death has-' occurred of a wellknown Clevedon resident, Mr. George Alister Campbell, of Ness Valley, at the age of 59. 'Mr. Campbell was the eldest son of pioneer settlers, the late Mr. and Mrs. Colin Campbell, and spent the whole of his life as a farmer at Ness Valley. He took a keen interest in public activities until he became ill three years ago. For many years he was a member of the Clevedon Agricultural and Pastoral Association, and held office as a vice-presi-dent. His last outing from his home was to attend the association's annual show earlier this month. Mr. Campbell was also a member of the Clevedon School Committee, a life-member of the New Zealand Farmers' Union and a member of the Clevedon Bowling Club. He is survived by his wife and four daughters.
' ■' MR. G. F. MATHER [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TE AROHA, Monday The death has occurred at Waitoa, where he was visiting friends, of Mr. George Frederick Mather, aged 63, a commercial traveller, of Auckland. Mr. Mather had been in poor health for some time.
