RADIO LICENCES
Sir, —With regard to the excuse of the Postmaster-General, given at Dunedin, relating to the abolition of quarterly radio licences, it is high time the Government apply their, governing as they claim to do by the voice of the people. The voice of the people has been heard for years now claiming for a reasonable reduction in radio licence fees.
If the Government really intends, as it professes, to give back to the people something, of the profits and benefits of its various undertakings, then why not do it now in our time of need? Surely with reserve of over half a million pounds to its credit, plus another £IOO,OOO lent out, the National Broadcasting Department could givo us licences more in keeping with the service it gives. Menedemus.
