Mr. C. G. Macindoe left for Welling, ton by the afternoon express yesterday.

Mr. A. T. Donnelly, of Christchurcli, who has been visiting Auckland, left for Wellington by the limited express last night on his return to the South Island.

Mr. Justice O'Regan, arrived from New Plymouth by train yesterday morning, to preside at sittings of the Arbitration Court in Auckland.

Mr. F. Maurice Clarke,- manager of Union Airways of New Zealand, Limited, arrived from Wellington by air yesterday. He is •at the Grand Hotel.

Mr. N.' South African consulting engineer, and Mrs. Shand arrived in Auckland yesterday on their wav home after a world tour.

Mr. Q. G. Christophers, manager of the Bank ot, New South' Wales in Lawrence, has been appointed to the management of the Frankton Junction branch. - - . O

The Rev. H. A. Fauvel, of Tonga, arrived in Auckland yesterday on his way to Nelson to attend the General Synod of the Church of England in New Zealand.

The Rt. Rev. L. S. Kempthorne, \n"liean Bishop of Polynesia, is expected to arrive at Auckland by the Mariposa on February 17 on his way to attend the General Synod of the Church of England in New Zealand.

Mr. J. Sayegli and Mr. A. S. Sutherland have been appointed to represent the Auckland Harbour Board at the New Zealand Harbour Boards' conference in Wellington'on February 28 and '29, and March 1.

Dr. H. H. Allan, director of--"thß botany . division, Plant Research. Bureau. Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, has been elected a ■ Foreign Member of the ."Royal Societv of Sciences and Jitters' of Sweden, in recognition of his work on the botany of New Zealand.
