POSED AS SPINSTER
MARRIED WOMAN CHARGED PROBATION FOR TWO YEARS A married woman living apart from hor husband, Pansy Marguerite Milne Brimble, aged .'3l (Mr, Schramm), was sentenced by Mr. Justice Callan in the Supreme Court yesterday on an admitted charge of wilfully making a false declaration under'the Marriage Act. Counsel submitted that the offence was most stupid, nnd showed a lack of responsibility on the part of accused, who had never been in trouble before. "Under very great temptation, she passed herself off as a spinster, whereas in fact she was only a deserted wife," said His Honor, remarking on the seriousness of the offence. "She was prepared to deceive another man. and almost succeeded in deceiving the registrar." Accused was admitted to probation for two years, and ordered to pay £5 toward the costs of the prosecution. Application for suppression of the name was refused.
