FASHIONS AT EPSOM

LIGHT SILK MATERIALS GRACEFUL PICTURE HATS MANY VIVID ACCESSORIES Stripes and floral designs in a variety of bright colours were features of the frocking chosen by the women who attended the opening day of the Auckland Trotting Club's Centennial Summer -Meeting at Alexandra Park yesterday. The vogue for printed materials is at its height, floral patterns being the most popular choice, and the result at yesterday's meeting was very colourful and charming. In spite of the fairly strong breeze, wide-brimmed picture hats were warn by n large number of women, while others chose the medium-sized tailored styles in Bangkok or Ballibuntal straws. Light-weight tweed suits were another popular choice and theso were brightened by the accessories which were frequently of such vivid shades as crimson, parma violet and blue.
