Thursday A decrease in butter exported to British and foreign ports of 3397 tons, or 14.8 per cent, and a decrease of clieese shipments of 9.3 per cent for the 12 months ended September 30, 1939, compared with the samo period of 1937-38, was shown in a statement on the trade and shipping of the port of Wellington, presented to the Wellington Harbour Board by the chairman. Mr. M. A. Eliott, to-night. Wool shipments increased by 43,763 bales, or 18.2 per cent, and frozen meat by 6 per cent. Tho total shipping figures of the port (4,056,482, tons) had decreased by 116,113 tons, or 2.S per cent, below last year's record figure of 4,172,595 tons.
