ABOLITION MOVEMENT [nv TKTjKGRAPJI —PItKSS association] CIIRISTCHURCH, Friday Assistance in the movement to abolish Sunday funerals was sought by a deputation from the New Zealand Funeral Directors' Association which approached the Presbyterian General Assembly. Tho funeral directors desired to eliminate Sunday work, said the leader of the deputation. Moreover, Sunday was the minister's busiest day. When it was impossible to avoid a Sunday funeral the funeral directors would prefer it to be before 11 a.m. Tho assembly agreed to ask for the co-operation of the clergy as suggested, the moderator remarking that the clergy were no more fond of Sunday funerals than the undertakers.
