A Litany for Use in Time of War

SAVIOUR Who didst bid us pray, For Thy people day by day, Guard our soldiers far away, Hear us, we beseech 7 bee. Guard our soldiers, make them • strong, Grant the fight may not be long, Give them strength to right the wrong, Help them, we beseech Thee. Listen to our anxious cry, For our airmen in the sky, Keep them 'veath Thy watchful eye, Help them, we beseech Thee. 'Mid the battle's mighty roar, When the foemen press them sore, Give them victory, we implore, Help them, we beseech Thee. They left all at duty's call, Wives and homes and children small, All to fight, but some to fall, Help them, we beseech 7 hee.

For the wounded, Lord, we plead, For the dying, intercede,For the captives in their need, Hear us, we beseech Thee. Grant to those who fall in fight, Pardon, peace, and visions bright, Grant to them eternal Light, Hear us, we beseech Thee. In the gloom Thy Light provide, Safely through the valley guide, Thee we trust, for Thou hast died, Hear us, we beseech Thee. Give us grace to play .our' part, Courage in our inmost heart, All Thy sevenfold Gifts impart, Help us, we beseech Thee.
