SANPEES CUP CONTEST THE SECOND TRIAL TO-DAY FIVE BOATS TO COMPETE The second of the series of trial races to select the boat and crew to represent Auckland in the annual contest for the Sanders Cup for 14ft. Jellicoe class boats will bo held to-day. The race will start at 2.15 p.m. off St. Mary's boat harbour wall and will bo sailed over a windward and leeward course. The boats and skippers are:—Caress QV. Rogers), Clyde (M. Willetts), Manorie QY. Parkes), Endeavour (P. Wass), Aileen (W. J. Potter). Tho first trial last Saturday was won by Caress. OTHER CLUB RACES Takapuna.—The club will hold two handicap races for class Z and also a Cornwell Cup trial race this afternoon. Iho handicap events will start off tho clubhouse at 2.30 o'clock and the trial race will bo carried out at I lie conclusion of the other two events. Following are the handicaps.—pnpuke division: Fury, Tanya, scr; Ranoni, / a m; Tawaki, To Hoa, 1m; Tamati, iy 2 m; Aotea, To Utu, Pat C., 2m; Taranui, 3m; Cheerio, 3 l Am. Takapuna division: Caradoc Meola scr; Kupe, Yivn-, Waiatua, 1m; Capri, 1/im; Starina, 3m. Wakatere. —Tho club will open the summer season this afternoon with a se.rics of races for Frostbito sailing dinghies. Iho first race will start at 2.30 o'clock off Narrow Neck Beach, Dcvonport. Heme Bay.—The Junior Yacht Club will hold three races to-day, starting off, the Ponsonby wharf. The races will be for the Siher Ferns, the open class and the new Butterfi.\ class of sailing canoes. All skippers are requested to meet at the wharf at :J l -™' to receive course instructions and handicaps. The Silver Fern class will start at 2.30 p.m.
