SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

(THIRD CONCERT NEXT WEEK The Auckland Symphony Orchestra, comprising 65 players, will present its third concert in the Town Hall next •Thursday night. A well-selccted programme has been chosen, and one of the major works to be played is Schubert's [Unfinished Symphony. Another item of note will be the second presentation of .Guilmant's Concerto in D Minor for organ and orchestra, while Nicolai's Merry Wives pf Windsor Overture should prove popular. An ensemble of more than 40 violin students will present two numbers. A novelty will be introduced to Aucklanders in "Maori Rhapsody,", which was specially written for this concert by lan Aueklander, Mr. Llewellyn .Tones. The conductor is Mr. Colin Mnston.
