LIQUOR IN DRY AREA

PENALTY OF £2O IMPOSED [from our own correspondent] TE AWAMUTU, Friday Charges of selling wine within a proclaimed area, Parawera, and of supplying liquor to a Maori, wore preferred against Madhubai Chhita, in tho Te Awamutu Police Court, beforo Mr. W. H. Freeman, S.M. Sergeant Clist, who prosecuted, stated that lie carried out a search of defendant's premises and found 39 bottles of liquor.

The magistrate imposed a fine of £2O on tho first charge and 10s on the second. He ordered the liquor to be confiscated.
