PIONEER'S DEATH

MRS. CATIfRINE BARRY 86 YEARS IN AUCKLAND OVER 120 DESCENDANTS Born at Matakana, near Kawau. 91 years ago, Mrs. Cathrine Barry, 0 f 54 Well park Avenue, Grey Lynn, died this week. She had been a resident of Auckland for 86 years. The parents of Mr.*. Barry, whose maiden name' was Bosvrell, arrived in Xew Zealand in 1842. For some years Mr. Boswell,'who was a stone-mason by trade, was caretaker of Sir George Grey's'estate at Kawau, but in 1853 the family, mored to High Street, Auckland. Apart from a trip to Fiji, Mrs. Barry spent all her life in Xew Zealand, and for the last 60 year£, had lived at the same address in Grey Lynn. She was. married on August 19, 1868, at the residence of the Rev. James Hfll, to Mr. Garrett Barry, who worked at the first abattoirs established in Auckland.
