SALE OF A LEASE
DISAPPEARANCE OF BUYER HOLDER AWARDED £7OO [from our own\ cor respondent] HAMILTON, Friday No defence was filed and no appearance was made by defendant in a civil case which was heard before the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, in the Supreme Court at Hamilton yesterday. Winifred Eileefi Young proceeded against David McDonald for £7OO damages in connection with the sale of a lease on a property at Rangitaiki, on the Taupo-Napier Road. Mr. L. P. Lean', of Auckland, appeared for tlio plaintiff. Mr. Learv said that the defendanthad disappeared some time ago and the case was operating on substituted service, as the defendant could not be located. Judgment for the full amount claimed was entered for plaintiff.
