MOTHER CHARGED

MELBOURNE WOMAN FURTHER GRANTED A young married woman from Melbourne, who was arrested on the [Monterey on October. 16 on her arrival from Australia, again appeared on remand in the Police Court yesterday before Mr. C. R. Orr Walker,- S.M. She was charged with unlawfully taking an unmarried girl under 16 out of the possession and against the will of her parent, her guardian and the person having lawful care and charge of her. Evidence was taken from ActingDetective W. H. Cromwell, who stated that he had arrested the woman on a provisional warrant. She had admitted that she was the person named in the warrant.

An application was made by Detec-tive-Sergeant McHugh for a further remand until Tuesday. Bail of £2OO on the same terms as previously was sought by Mr. A. H. Johnstone,. K.C., representing the woman. Both requests were granted by the magistrate.
