ATTRACTIVE WEDDINGS

MULLIS—GOODING BRIDE IN CREAM LACE Cherry blossom, snowballs and cream shaded stock decorated Holy Trinity Church at Devonport on Tuesday evening when Miss Margaret Joyce Gooding, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Gooding, Vauxhall Road, Devonport, was married to Mr. Horace Wingate Mullis, eldest son of Mrs. A. G. Mullis and the late Mr. H. Mullis, of Belmont. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. B. R. Brierley, and Mr. D. R. Salmon presided at the organ. During the service a solo was sun;; by Miss Alice Wills. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a gown of magnolia Chantilly lace. Fashioned on Victorian lines, the slim-fitting corsage had a deep, heart-shaped neckline finished with a band of niching. The cross-over sleeves were elbowlertgth and full on the shoulders, and the long skirt flared from the waistline into an oval train. Filmy Tulle Veil The bride's filmy tulle veil was caught to her head by three tea roses and she carried a shower bouquet of roses, freesias, stock and maidenhair fern. Tn attendance as bridesmaids were the bride's sister, Miss Blossom Gooding, ( and Miss Babs Hawes, who wore attractive frocks of magnolia georgette designed with square necklines. The short ' sleeves and close-fitting bodices were softly shirred, and the long, full skirts were finished at the centre panel with a row of tiny true lovers' knots. In their hair they wore scarlet gerberas, carnations and maidenhair fern, and carried bouquets of the same flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. W. P. Harris as best man, and the groomsman was Mr. John Bull. The ushers wore Mr. Rav Mullis and Mr. L. Ryan. Reception at Bride's Home After the .service a reception was held at the bride's home, which had been attractively arranged with bowls of spring flowers. To receive her guests, Mrs. Gooding wore a graceful frock of French grev georgette with a tucked bolero relieved with cyclamen. Her hat was of black tagel straw with a crown of cyclamen shaded flowers, and she carried a bouquet of cyclamen and sweet pens. The bridegroom's mother. Mrs. Mullis, wore a frock of forest green crepe threaded with silver, and a black Baku straw hat. Her bouquet was of flower? in autumn colouring. WHYTE—JONKS •The wedding was celebrated quietly at the Methodist Church. Epsom, on Thursday morning of Miss IWollie Jones, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs.' Len .Tones, of Kenton Farm, Mangere, and Mr. Murray Whyte, son of Mr. and I Mrs. Norman Whvte, of Sunnybrao, ' Trafalgar Street, Oneliunga. The Kev. J. D. Grocott performed the ceremony. The bride wore a charming suit «of apple green, the coat of which was appliqued with leaves of the same material, and with it was worn a cream lace vest. Her small hat and veil were of matching georgette, and she carried a bouquet of pale pink and green orchids and lily of the valley. In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Shirley Jones, sister of the bride, whose frock was of ice blue with a pleated skirt and bodice. She wore a large felt hat in a'darker toning, and carried a bono net of pink roses and carnations. After the ceremony a small luncheon oarty was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Len .Tones. The tables were decorated with vases of pale blue bearded irises and pink fuchsia. Mrs. Jones received the guests wearing a black suit relieved with green, and a black picture hat. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Whyte, wore a grey frock and hat with cyclamen trimmings. Mrs. .Tones, grandmother of the bride, was also in black with white accessories.
