Th 11 rsday A private bar is a public place and persons using indecent language there, oven after hours, are liable to conviction, according to a judgment of Mr. J. H. Luxford, S..M in a case in which three men were so charged following a disturbance which took place when., the police entered the private bar of 'the Imperial Hotel and found the licensee, his wife and a barman serving, anil a scene no different from an ordinary bar nt a bnsv period of the day. The magistrate construed the word ''open" as meaning open ..to the public and not open to the street.
