TWENTY-ONE CHARGES
BREAKING INTO FACTORIES LABOURER FOR SENTENCE 4 Twenty-one charges of breaking and entering, attempted breaking and entering, theft and mischief, committed in city warehouses and factories between July 11 and October 4, were admitted by • Francis Hillary Fox Nnvlor, labourer, aged 20, in the Police Court before justices yesterday. Involved in the charges ivere 11 cases in which money totalling £SG 10s Cd was taken. Property valued at £2 Is 7d, including detonators, safe keys, a cash box and gelignite and fuse, was also stolen, and mischief to the extent of £1 IGs 8d to a lock and glass was committed. Detective-Sergeant MeHugh prosecuted. Evidence was given by Adam Leggatt Meek, night watchman at Messrs. Thompson and Hills, Nelson Sti-eet, that on October 4 at 9.10 p.m. he heard a noise at the foot of the stairs, and, flashing a torch, saw a man standing there. The man was locked in a room, but escaped through a window while witness was telephoning the police. Accused was the man ho had seen.
After evidence had been given concerning the breaking and entering of other premises, accused was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
