Since then a steady growth in the volume of business handled by the department at Wanganui has been manifest and some years ago it was ' necessary to obtain other accommodation fcr the money order and savings bank branch and the telegraph' engt-" neers staff. Apart from the natural growth of business the post office has during recent years undertaken much additional work on behalf of other State departments, resulting in accom« modation being heavily taxed and ulti-. mately giving rise to the decision to provide an up-to-date post office.
